iCV ANALYZER
DETECTS CONTACT VOLTAGE

The EPRI iCV Analyzer app is designed to detect Contact Voltage, the kind of unwanted contact voltage that is found in electrically energized objects that the general public or electric utility workers could come into contact with by accident — particularly in high-density urban environments with large electrification and aging infrastructures. These situations could range from low stray voltage (in the order of 10 volts or less, due neutral-to-earth voltage, NEV) to objects that are energized at higher potential due to power line insulation failures or degradation.

Used in concert with a wand that senses the energized object, the iCV Analyzer app captures the GPS location, receives the signal — and displays and documents the signal as a waveform snapshot on the iPhone. This event can then be sent via email over 3G/4G wireless networks to a central collection point for further analysis.

In addition, the app can be run in a Demo Mode using the internal microphone as the source.
